Asher goes to the Hospital

So, this is where our blogging really went downhill last spring. On Memorial Day, we got up in the morning to find Asher semi-conscious on his bedroom floor. After some debate as to what on earth was wrong (he really looked like he was drugged) Larry hauled him to the emergency room. By the time they figured out what was going on, his eyes had rolled back into his head, he was completely unconscious and his body was twitching and starting to seize. So, apparently that morning his blood sugar checked in at a whopping 16! For anyone one who knows, that is pretty much where you flat line. Needless to say, we almost lost our little Asher that morning and it really scared us. he spent two days in the PICU and they sent him home with a blood sugar meter and other paraphenelia to take care of him if it dropped again. We came home with no idea what had happened and instructions on how low was too low and when to bring him back to the hospital. Needless to say, this little incident threw our lives into a period of paranoia about it happening again, and a little bit of adjusting. All I can say is that everyone at the hospital was in love with him by the time he left. He was so good natured about the whole thing!!
