Mayson's 8th Birthday

Mayson's birthday was extra special this year. Not only because it was a big one, she turned eight, but also because it landed on Easter this year. She loved that she got to get Easter goodies and birthday presents. She got her own DSi because she's such a big kid now, and because mom and dad thought it would be a great thing to have on our long drive to Texas. She also had to endure her birthday spankings. You can see she hated that! Isn't she a beautiful young lady! And I have to say, this is a girl after my own heart. Pumpkin cheesecake is so much better than cake! And I just had to put in this picture of Asher at the end. I thought it was cute. What on earth is going on with his hair?

Easter 2011

We had a fun Easter as usual. The kids decoraed eggs, we had an egg hunt, and of course the Easter Bunny made a visit. Doesn't Kaleb look excited to be dying eggs with the family...

We love the Arts!

Here are mom and Rhyan at Playhouse Square watching Harold and the Purple Crayon. We sure are going to miss this place! We have seen some really great shows here.

Here is Mayson singing in the spring choir concert at Oxford. They sounded great!

Our Last Trip to the Cleveland Children's Museum

This was our last trip to the Cleveland Children's Museum. We have loved this place. The sand was always our favorite when they had that exhibit there. Nothing like an entire room full of sand to play in. From Fancy Nancy parties, to meeting Dora the Explorer, the kids have really enjoyed this place while we've lived here.

Our Last Trip to the Rain Forrest

This was our last trip to the Cleveland Zoo's Rain Forrest. The rain forrest was the best thing ever in the long, cold Cleveland winters. You could go from frigid temperatures into the balmy, humid 80ยบ rain forrest. It almost made you beleive it was summer... almost.

Kaleb gets his Arrow of Light

The end of March Kaleb finished up all of his requirements for his Arrow of Light. He joined a new troop just after the school year had started, and it it was a wonderful troop. His leaders were great and worked hard to help the boys get their requirements done. He did two years of Webelos in about six months time. He worked really hard and we were very proud of him. This was his ceremony where he got to walk across the bridge and become a an official Boy Scout. He's on his way to eagle...

It's Official... We Have a Job

So for all of you who have been on the edge of your seat waiting to find out where the Kalke family is going to end up, it's official. The end of June we will officially be residents of College Station, TX. We have found a doctor with a great practice who is looking for a partner. He and his wife seem very nice and we are really excited to get down there and get to work. We have been in Cleveland a long time, and the thought of leaving brings some mixed emotions. We are definitely excited, but we will all be a little sad to leave the good times and great people we have met here. We have really enjoyed ourselves and will be leaving with some great memories. Texas brings warmth and sunshine though, which after the long winter we have just gone through sounds awesome. We will also be closer to some family which will be great. And, I guess our family is going to have to become Aggie fans just by default. We'll see how that goes... As more details roll out we will be sure and keep everyone posted on our plans.

I'm a Big Kid Now!

Asher has had an eventful couple of months. First he got potty trained, then he got his first haircut, and are you ready for it.... drum roll please! Asher has given up his be-be! For those of you who may not understand Asherese, that is his binky. The beginning of last week when it was time for bed Monday night they had sadly all disappeared around the house wherever he had left them. He went to bed very sad because he had lost them, and Tuesday was a little rough because he wanted one and he couldn't find them. Wednesday he tried to convince me that I had them, and by Thursday he had accepted the fact that he was going to have to survive without them. He has now nearly forgotten about his be-be entirely, and as I have been randomly finding them around the house they are meeting an unfortunate demise. The process was surprising less dramatic than I thought it would be, as we really only had one kind of sad day. I can't believe it, my baby isn't a baby any more. Can you believe he will be three in about a month and a half. Where does the time go?

Dad's Shorts

Rhyan and Asher thought it was hilarious that they could each fit into a leg of dad's shorts at the same time. They did look pretty cute!
