Rhyan Graduates to a Big-Girl bed

Today as Larry and I were sitting on the couch, enjoying the peace and quiet while the two older kids were at school and Rhyan was "taking a nap," we hear the pitter patter of little feet above our heads. As we look at each other with the question looming, we suddenly hear the door upstairs open and Rhyan talking. I go upstairs and say "Rhyan, what are you doing? You're supposed to be sleeping." She gave me her proud little look and said "down!" So, apparently Rhyan has suddenly mastered the art of escaping from her crib. I guess I shouldn't complain since she is 22 months old and has never tried before today. She is now in a big girl bed and is so proud and excited. She was climbing on and off and jumping up and down. So much for my peaceful time in the morning when I knew Rhyan was in bed until I went to get her out!

Mark's Birthday

Mom and Mark stayed out for a couple days after graduation and were here for Mark's birthday. We went to Penn Station for dinner and then to Cold Stone for ice cream afterward. We all had our Dora party hats and blowers, and the kids thought it was great. How can you miss with Dora and ice cream?

Dental School Graduation

The last four years has flown by. It is hard to believe that graduation has now come and gone...it seems like we just moved here. We spent Saturday night with just the adults at Lola, an
amazing restaurant downtown. It is definitely not a kid place so it was a fun evening out for the adults. Larry presented me with a beautiful bracelet after dinner to say thanks for the support over the
years. He is such a wonderful guy. It's nice to know that in his big moment he is sensitive enough to know that it truly is a team effort, and that it has been a long road for both of us. It was really a nice night. The
next morning started bright and early, and we went to the big Case commencement ceremony where Larry officially was granted the title of doctor. We were so proud of him. After the big commencement, I went back to get the kids & my mom & Mark, and we all went down to campus for the dental school's graduation luncheon. From there we went to the Church of the Covenant where the Dental School Commencement ceremony took place. It was nice, and Larry received his diploma and letter
from the dean which makes it official...he is now employable as a dentist!! We all went out (with the kids too) to Red Robin for burgers afterwards to celebrate that it is really official now. Hard to believe but it's true, and we all can't say enough how proud we are of Larry and all he has accomplished. His residency starts the first of July, and we have already got everything filled out for his Ohio license, so hopefully some moonlighting will start this fall. A pay check...what's that?

Mayson's Dance Racital

I got back from Utah just in time to go from the airport to Mayson's dance recital. She looked so cute and she always has so much fun when she dances! I love to watch her up on the stage...she is quite comfortable in the spotlight!

Utah trip

I had an unexpected trip to Utah the beginning of the month. I got the phone call that Grandma Hall had passed away the evening of our senior dinner, and that Monday I flew in to Salt Lake. Thanks to Aunt Sheree I was able to get there for the funeral. It was a very nice ceremony and I really think she would have liked it. It was nice to get to see everyone, I just wish it had been
under better circumstances. I extended my trip for two days longer than originally planned. I hadn't seen anyone in a while, and to have all four of us siblings there at once is something to take advantage of. We did have some fun while I was there, and as much as I'm sure my doctor probably would not have approved, the go-kart was a lot of fun! Hey, at eight months pregnant, you have to take your fun where you can get it...

Senior Dinner

We had our senior dinner the first of May at the Botanical Gardens down by Case. It was a beautiful setting, the food was great, and it was a fun evening. The first picture is one of a lot of us wives who
hang out together and have spent the last four years missing our husbands. The next one is one of Larry looking awfully happy because he was walking back to the table after having won The Joseph D. Gage Award. This award is given to "the senior exemplifying the highest level of professional and humanitarian ideals in the field of general practice dentistry." Pretty impressive!!! I'm sure part of the smile was due to the check he got with his award. Either way, I am proud of him and all that he has accomplished over the last four years!
